According to the International Energy Agency's (IEA) "Global Critical Minerals Outlook 2026" report, the price of tungsten surged by 622% between January 2025 and April 2026, marking the highest growth among all critical minerals.
This rise is driven by export restrictions, a high concentration of global supply, and growing demand from high-tech sectors, the aerospace industry, and the energy industry.
This trend indicates that tungsten is transforming from a common raw material into a strategic industrial resource, which increases the need for sustainable and diversified supply chains.
It is under these conditions that Uzbekistan is presenting new opportunities.
Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMK) is developing a complete value chain in the tungsten industry—from mining and resource base development (Upstream) to advanced processing, production of high-value-added products, and entry into global markets (Downstream).
As the global market seeks new sources of tungsten, Uzbekistan is emerging as a new strategic partner with a complete production chain.
