UzTMC launches incentive system for scientific research
Scientific research in the field of global metallurgy and materials science is one of the most important areas of technological progress. In particular, the study and effective use of rare and rare earth metals are of great importance for industrial sectors. In this regard, "Uzbekistan Technological Metalls Complex" JSC (UzTMC) has launched a program of material incentives for scientists and researchers to further develop scientific activities and enhance the international reputation of our country.
This initiative is being implemented in accordance with the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted in 2024 on the development of powder metallurgy, formation of a raw material base for industrially important minerals, and organization of their production. From now on, scientific articles published in journals with a high impact factor will be rewarded by UzTMC with a special financial incentive.
New opportunities for science and innovation
Scientific articles should be published in reputable international journals with an impact factor. Publications should be included in the SCI (Science Citation Index) and SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) indexes. Each article is reviewed by the Academic Council of UzTMC to determine its relevance to the appropriate field.
It is recommended to publish scientific articles in the following areas:
- Technologies for the extraction and processing of rare and rare earth metals;
- Materials and metals for green energy;
- Nanotechnology and its application in metallurgy;
- Environmentally friendly production and zero-waste technologies;
- New properties of metal alloys and composite materials;
- Application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in metallurgical processes;
- Production of materials for renewable energy sources.
Criteria for material incentives
The size of the incentive from UzTMC is determined based on the impact factor and quartile of the journal in which the article was published. Rewards are allocated based on the following categories:
Category A – Top publications:
- 860 times the base calculated value for articles published in Nature or Science journals;
- If the main author represents the combine, the reward is increased to 1720 times the base calculated value.
Category B – High Impact Journals:
- Impact factor 10 and higher (Q1): 515 times the base calculated value;
- Impact factor 5-10 (Q1-Q2): 140 times the base calculated value;
- Impact factor 2-5 (Q2-Q3): 35 times the base calculated value;
- Impact factor 1-2 (Q3-Q4): 18 times the base calculated value;
- Impact factor below 1 (Q4): 12 times the base calculated value.
Category C:
- 4 times the base calculated value for other articles included in the SCIE index.
This incentive system applies only to articles published by UzTMC employees.
