A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Water Resources, Industrial Safety, and Waste Management was held in Tashkent with the support of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
This platform is one of the most authoritative venues for harmonizing regional environmental management with international standards.
At the meeting, the head of TMK's environmental protection service, Aigul Igembaeva, gave a presentation on tungsten ore processing and environmental risk reduction.
The presentation demonstrated TMK's approach to implementing responsible mining practices, as well as its commitment to global ESG principles. It highlighted the following priority areas:
⚫️minimizing waste during the tungsten enrichment process;
⚫️increasing water use efficiency;
⚫️production processes that comply with ESG standards;
⚫️compliance with industrial safety requirements and international conventions.
This participation by TMK clearly demonstrated that Uzbekistan is developing a responsible and sustainable approach in the critical minerals sector that aligns with international ESG principles.
