Political, economic, scientific, and innovative cooperation between Uzbekistan and Great Britain is reaching a new level. An important part of this process was today's meeting between the British delegation led by Ambassador to Uzbekistan Timothy Smart and TMK.
The meeting discussed important initiatives that TMK and Great Britain can implement in cooperation in the field of critical minerals.
In particular, an agreement was reached to organize a major Roadshow dedicated to Uzbekistan's critical minerals next year in Great Britain with the participation of international financial institutions, industrial companies, and government agencies.
The British Ambassador proposed to TMK:
To join the "UK Critical Minerals Association";
To facilitate Uzbekistan's accession to the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative);
To become a member of the G7 countries' Connex initiative - a negotiation platform based on international standards. These memberships will contribute to increasing the flow of direct investments to Uzbekistan.
The meeting also focused on effective initiatives in the field of education:
Co-financing of master's programs under the Chevening scheme, training talented youth in this field in Great Britain;
Support for initiatives to invite recognized Nobel laureates to Uzbekistan to organize round tables for young researchers.
