Long-term industrial cooperation has been established between TMK Smart Powder within the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex system and Korea Powder Metallurgy, a leading South Korean company in powder metallurgy.
Under this agreement, Uzbekistan will set up production of high-precision spare parts for the automotive industry based on powder metallurgy. This marks an important step towards the transfer of advanced technologies in industry and the production of high value-added products.
The project fully aligns with the priority objectives set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the deep modernization of industry, technology transfer, and the production of export-oriented products.
Main outcomes:
8 types of products will be localized
About 50 new jobs will be created
The products will be targeted at both the domestic market and export
Powder metallurgy is an advanced industrial technology that enables the production of complex and high-precision parts, dramatically reduces metal waste, and utilizes resources with maximum efficiency.
The share of metal waste in production within the project will not exceed 4%, which fully complies with modern environmental and industrial standards.
It is important to note that this agreement is the first in the TMK system to be signed in the format of a Technology Development Agreement aimed at technology transfer and will be implemented on the basis of a strategic partnership for a period of at least 10 years.
For reference: Korea Powder Metallurgy is a leading manufacturer of high-precision parts based on powder metallurgy for the automotive industry, supplying products directly to GM Motors Powertrain and holding the BIQS 5 international certificate.
