
A meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Canada in Uzbekistan was held at the head office of the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMK).
Canada has been steadily expanding its cooperation with Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, in the fields of critical minerals and the mining and metals industry.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for developing bilateral trade and investment cooperation in the critical minerals sector.
Particular attention was given to rhenium. The parties explored opportunities to establish contacts with leading Canadian companies specializing in the processing of rhenium products and the production of high-purity rhenium.
They also discussed expanding trade relations, arranging direct supplies of TMK products to industrial consumers in Canada, and engaging Canadian companies in the implementation of TMK’s greenfield projects.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to establish ongoing working contacts, expand trade and investment cooperation, and continue practical dialogue in areas of mutual interest.
