In Tashkent, the management of the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMK) met with a delegation of Japanese business leaders headed by Masayuki Tanimoto, Chairman of the Japan-Uzbekistan Economic Committee and President and Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Corporation.

The delegation included representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, Innoventier LPC, URYU & ITOGA, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI), the Japanese business association ROTOBO, and other organizations.

During the talks, the parties discussed expanding Uzbek-Japanese cooperation in the field of critical minerals, developing investment and financing mechanisms, introducing advanced technologies, producing high-value-added products, and building resilient supply chains.

The Japanese side emphasized the importance of diversifying critical raw material supply chains and developing long-term cooperation with reliable partners, identifying Uzbekistan as a promising partner in this area.

Particular attention was given to practical areas of cooperation, including supplying critical metals to the Japanese market, involving Japanese companies in promising mining and processing projects, securing project financing with the participation of Japanese financial institutions, and jointly producing high-value-added products within the Metals of the Future Technopark.

The parties also discussed opportunities to implement joint projects within the R&D Park, introduce advanced Japanese technologies, and strengthen technological partnerships.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify the joint development of promising projects, continue targeted negotiations with Japanese companies and financial institutions, and move toward preparing specific investment, technological, and financing proposals.
