Supply security is no longer only a question of geology or investment appetite. It is a question of coordination, governance, and execution across the value chain.
Uzbekistan is approaching this through a state-backed, vertically integrated model – connecting upstream mining, midstream processing, downstream manufacturing, and R&D within a single development framework. At the center of this effort is the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMK), a state-owned enterprise mandated to advance the country's critical raw materials sector in a coordinated, industrially focused way.
This reflects a broader shift. Fragmented projects and isolated investments are giving way to models that emphasize integration, infrastructure readiness, and long-term alignment between capital, industry, and public institutions.
Against this backdrop, TMK will be hosting Uzbekistan Day PDAC 2026 in Toronto – a half-day working session on how Uzbekistan is organizing its critical raw materials development. Topics include the role of midstream processing capacity, Special Economic Zones, and how industrial participation and capital engagement fit within a state-backed framework.
