"Uzbekistan possesses vast geological resources and a rapidly developing mining and metallurgical industry. You want to own your mining operations, develop your own industry, create jobs, build skills and knowledge, and move up the value chain. This is precisely the essence of the European proposal», said Toivo Klaar, the European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan, during the first session of MINEX Central Asia 2025.
This session, titled "Regional Cooperation and Strategic Partnership for Forming Ecosystems of Critical Minerals», presented perspectives on the future of the mining industry and critical raw materials in Central Asia.
The speakers emphasized that Central Asia - as a region with shared geological potential - has unique opportunities to become a global hub for stable and secure metal and mineral supply chains.
Furthermore, during the session, participants shared their views on expanding cross-border investments and establishing long-term partnerships in the mining sector and raw materials industry.
