TMK Expands International Scientific Cooperation with KAIST, Korea's Leading Institute

A delegation from the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex and the University of Business and Science (Uzbekistan) visited the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea.

 

During the visit, the delegation met with the renowned professor and Head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at KAIST, Byong-ha Shin.

 

The parties agreed to explore opportunities for participation in joint grant projects, conducting scientific research in the field of critical metals, and the mutual use of laboratories and their facilities.

 

The following priority areas were identified for scientific cooperation:


🔹 Advanced functional materials and alloys;
🔹 Heat-resistant materials and their industrial applications;
🔹 Digital materials science;
🔹 Development of semiconductor materials based on pure selenium and tellurium;
🔹 Development of materials for solar panels based on critical metals;
🔹 Optimization of technological processes and their implementation at the pilot-industrial stage.

 

For reference: KAIST is a leading higher education institution in South Korea for engineering and the exact sciences, and is ranked among the top three universities in the country. Internationally, it ranks 53rd in the QS World University Rankings and is one of the world's leading innovative higher education institutions.
